Congratulations to Zack Godshall, AFF Alum and Ross Brupbacher for their film “Lord Byron” being accepted to Sundance!

AFF would like to share some great new year’s news…Lafayette, LA natives Zack Godshall & Ross Brupbacher’s movie, LORD BYRON, will be premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival!

Come celebrate with us at the LORD BYRON Fundraising, Face-Melting Bash!!!!!!  Saturday, January 8th at 8PM at the Schilling Shack, 244 Refinery St, Lafayette, LA

All proceeds will aid in the expenses necessary to bring the film, cast and crew to Sundance.

**Byron lives with his ex-wife, her kids, and her boyfriend, and when he is not pursuing his primary passion, women, he spends his time smoking weed and loafing around. But he’s grown restless in his middle-age, and he feels the need to escape. He just doesn’t know where to go.

LORD BYRON stars Paul Batiste of Church Pointe, as well as Eric Schexnayder, Kayla LeMaire, Kenneth Richard, Malorie Thibodeaux, Bria Hobgood, Katryn Schmidt, James Wise, Dave Lucito, Gwendolyn Spradling, Roscoe Hall, Duncan Thistlewaite and Dale Pierrottie.

AFF Official Selection, “Broke Sky” Airing on Sundance Tonight!

Buzzard Films and Clan Cameron Cinema are proud to announce that their critically acclaimed thriller “BROKE SKY” is making its cable debut on The Sundance Channel. Screening times will vary depending on your time zone and cable provider. In most areas it will air on Wednesday, December 1st at 12am Midnight and again at 4:55 AM. Please set your TIVO/DVR and check out this true independent festival favorite, featuring Will Wallace, Joe Unger, Bruce Glover, Duane Whitaker, Barbara Chisholm and a host of others, all playing out their destiny under the unrelenting Texas heat. It is the feature debut of co-writer and director Thomas Callaway. “Broke Sky” was produced by Jeff Burr, Karchi Perlmann, Dan Golden and Eric Miller. The Acadiana Film Festival is FREE and open to the public.  All screening, panels, seminars and workshops are first come first serve.

The Hospitality Suite and evening events offer free food and drinks to AFF VIP’s. If you would like a VIP pass you can become an AFF Member.  Look under Get Involved or click here!

“Inherit the Atchafalaya Basin”

This is a student film competition, where students create short films about saving the Atchafalaya Basin for the future generations. All entries are to be 30 seconds – 2 minutes in length.  The films are to be submitted to the Acadiana Film Festival (AFF) along with a submission form and a $10 submission fee.  Entries must be received by Friday, October 15. The Acadiana Film Festival Selection Committee will judge all entries and the top 5 will be viewed during the AFF on Friday, November 12.  The winning film will be played during LAFestival on Saturday, November 13 and will be on display at the official LAfestival website until LAfestival 2011.  The winning film will also receive 2 passes to the Acadiana Film Festival and 2 tickets to LAfestival.

The Acadiana Film Festival is made possible each year by hard working volunteers like yourself. We would love to have you on board if you are interested in helping for this year’s festival. The festival will run from November 11th – 14th and we would love to have you on any of those days, or if you’re available all of them!
